Clio 182 FF
Driving home from work yesterday, engine temperature suddenly shoots up and STOP lights up on the dash. Managed to pull over safely, pop bonnet open and realise there is NO coolant and the fan is doing overtime. Luckily there was a shop nearby so stuck a 2L bottle of water in crawled home (2mins round the corner).
By the time I was home the majority of the water had gone again. Left the car to cool down for a few hours and then filled it up with more water and took the following video...
Am I right in thinking that it looks like it is the water pump leaking? The water only leaks when the car is running.
The car had both belts done 18 months ago by the previous owner, however going off the receipts it doesn't appear the water pump was done at the same time.
I know the pump is driven by the Aux belt, but can it be accessed and replaced without the hassle of lift the engine etc etc. I'm assuming I will also need a new aux belt as they can't be reused. I'm also assuming this will be a Renault dealer job? (I don't know of any Renault Specialist garages in the Blackpool area?)
