waxing a car for the first time

  White clique
hi,

I have a clio that is about 4 months old, ultra red, and feel like giving it a bit of a valet. The question is, is it safe to wax it yet, or how long should you leave a new car's paint before it's waxed for the first time, i always here stories that you should not wax for "X" number of months? I expect a canubara wax is safe, but what about a 3 stage system like maguires to include paint cleaner and wax??????

  A slow one :-(
Yup Ditto, got washed and layer of 476S for a bit of protection before I get time to do a propper detail on it!

So answer to your question is: Should be fine mate!

New car paint will have been oven baked properly in the factory so fine to wax. A good claying and polish before the wax will be equally as important.

  Shed.
Mine wasnt new. but when i got mine after the stealers had polished it and waxed it, i gave it a thorough wash, using a bloody stong soloution of carwash and thena coat of srp and egp.
