Web / Graphic designers - Fonts question

Hey guys,

What do sites do you use for fonts?

Just looking for some cool new fonts for some designs I'm working on. Gotta be free though.

Mainly after stuff that isn't too wild. Just fairly basic sans serif type fonts, I've got Helvetica and Moderna. Looking for similar type fonts but maybe with a bit of a twist.

Suggestions welcome.

Yeah I use them at times. Was wondering if there was any not so popular 'gems' out there.

DaFont are decent enough, but some of the fonts on there, or any free site, are awful.

Some freelancer reckons he's Speikermann and bashes out a few typefaces, then hosts them... and they don't look good. Anywhere. On anything. You try adjusting the spacing, kerning or anything... f*ck all difference.

If you stick to the big guns though, DaFont's not that bad. Squirrel's also a decent shout.
