wee story with some questions

driving my car about a month ago, on popped the electrical and emissions light, car lost alot of power and i struggled home, left it for a few hours and went back out driving fine for about 5 mins came to the bottom of a hill it stalled and wouldn't start on again rolled to clear the junction and phoned my gf to tell her i couldn't get her tried to start car again it worked but the lights and powerloss came back and i struggled home again, left the car over night went out the next morning and in a state of rage i ragged it about the the electrcal light went out and i had the power back but the emissions light remained on, took it a short drive and crashed it lol

questions

why did this happen in the 1st place?

will my the garage repairing my car fix what caused this?

my cars not been drivin in about a month now can this cause any more problems?

what year? the older 1.2's suffer with a wiring loom fault on top of the ecu the cover rubs through the loom might be worth a look

03 aye i've heard of this, the wires dont seem to be damaged

well mate i had that come on on my car and lost all power and that shiz never had the car stall tho it always just limped home, i have now added a bit of carpet to the box and squashed it nice and tight and the carpet stops the box from touchin the wiring, i looked at the wiring and it looked spot on to me too but since adding the carpet it has been as right as rain

got a pic or diagram of this modification? lol ar is just a bit like underneath the top part that might be toucing the wires?

i just tend to delete the metal box myself.
done 4 or 5 now not had a problem.
all the ones i've done have had a wire rubbed through though - if nothings damaged it wont be that causing it.
