Weight loss

I'm interested to know where and how much weight can be taken from a Ph1 172.

Is there a thread knocking around or has it been documented at all?

how far do you want to go with it? I think 910-920 is quite achievable without a cage, not sure what sort of weight you can achieve with a cage in

Short term over the next 18 months or so not very far as its a 2nd car my wife is using too. After that it depends on circumstances but maybe a dedicated track car.

It would be nice to know how much can be saved on the aircon, seats, windows, sound deadening, tar pads, going to EPAS, etc.

I know some guys keep a log of everything as they do it recording weigh savings.

They've done a lot but more can be done with money, fiber glass doors, bonnet, tailgate etc.
Plus wheels can save abit.
Bigash did have a fiber glass door group buy going on!

do he simple thing like a lightweight exhaust and remove spare rear wheel that way your car is still nice on the inside. lightweight alloys can save like 15kg of rotational wieght
