Weird clicking noise Mk2 1.4 16V

Hi guys,

This might be a really stupid post, I'm more of an electrics guy than an engine guy, but what the hell is this clicking noise? (It stops after 6 seconds on the video)

It happens every couple of minutes for about 10 seconds, then stops. Sounds to be coming from the back of the engine, nearest the windscreen.



Any ideas?

Can't personally hear a click? Just your belt spinning.

Mines always had that noise... among other noises lol

There's definitely a noise, you can hear it stopping about 6 seconds into the video!

if you want to rule out some stuff, take the aux belt off and fire it up, if the noise is still there then you know its either the cambelt side of things or internal to the engine, if the noise is gone then you know its something aux belt driven, with the aux belt off give all the pullies a spin, they should all rotate freely and smoothly
