Weird Problem With Amp

right, ive finally rigged my subs and amp up, and ive got a problem

gain on amp turned most of the way down, subsonic filter as low as it will go.....20Hz......no bass boost

now, when set to full pass my subs play the music like they kinda? should do (full range, everythin)

when i set the amp to low pass, no matter what frequency ive got the crossover @.........i get this plane flying over head type noise even with the volume at 0.........its not like radio interference, but similar i guess

all my cables havent moved since i had my Alpine amp and sub in the car

status LEDs on amp are off (fine)
12.4v going to amp - engine off

i dont get any of it when the amps set at full pass, only when its set at low pass

so....???

the noise goes completely when i start the engine, and comes back when i turn the engine off

anyone got any ideas

i rang BBG technical and was told it might be my earth, but my earth is pretty good and hasnt been a problem previously

very weird m8, as most get probs when engines on not off lol

hmmmm well id suggest trying a diff earth first of all and c in if that helps, at least that eliminates that from the options

seems a bit odd really, take it amp hadnt moved or anything or been dropped etc

ive spoken today to the technical dept for the importers of my amp and its getting RTB tomorrow for testing and repair

i could understand it being the earth (kind of) if it was a new earth, but its the same as i had before and i never had any problems with it at all

when you switch the amp from LP to Full Pass the noise totally goes away, i tried using the crossover on my HU but its not as good or as adjustable as the one on the amp
