Welding shut the sunroof

Mk1 Certainly looks like more work than a Mk2 too!

Mk2 roof fits over everything else.

mine was a bit more of a job than normal due to wanting to have the roof channels removed, a normal swap would be a lot easier as its just tack welded and panel bonded at the channels, no need to cut down into the pillars etc.

Coops Turbo that looks awesome and is what I'd love to do.

I wasn't aware it was to be so difficult to tack in a panel without having warping issues which a few seem to have encountered

I'll probably get seals as replacing the roof skin is a little more expensive than I wanted. Both seals are more than £40 though! If I could have had the roof patched and painted for £200 I would rather be rid!

Not sure what evidence there is for the rusting comments. If the anti corrosion is applied correctly there shouldn't be any issue at all :)

as said chap, if its done right and well then their shouldn't be any issues at all with rust or warping. mines absolutely fine, inside and out, and its not like the car hasn't had a bit of abuse with the panel in.

that's with no roof lining as well, which adds structural strength as its glued to the roof

Yup I'm not putting new seals on my sunroof for the price I've even given. And that's Adams best price as trade aswell!

Now to hunt for a shell I can nick the roof off....
