wetsanding/polishing

  Clio Extreme 1.2
Hi there.
I'm new and can say it's not too hard if you do it right and carefully.
Get some 2000, 2500, 3000 grit wet dry paper.
Soak for a few hours or overnight.
Fill a spray bottle with water.
Clean the scratch area.
Spray the scratch area, and wrap the 2000 grit paper around a black.
Stroke against the scratch and continue spraying.
Less is more, so a few strokes, wipe with a microfibre cloth and check.
Don't do it too long or you can burn the paint or break the clear.
Refine with the 2500 and 3000.
Polish off by machine or by hand (if by hand, refine as high as you can, so 3000 is essential).

Got any pics of the scratches in question?
I achieved great results on small light scratches that only scratched the clear coat.

I thought you couldnt restore the gloss by hand, I havent got a rotary unfortunately.....

I achieved reasonable results by hand.
Refining helps a great deal.
I used a paint kit from paints4u and decided to used the g3 compound to polish a few other scratches I wetsanded.
Might require a few goes.
Ideally I plan to buy a DA or rotary soon to finish it off (a few scratches have minimal haze left from sand marks, but you can only see them under certain light and if you are purposely looking for them.)
