What’s the best deal on a new 172

I want to get a new 172, have any of you been offered a good deal?

11999 at motorpoint in burnley - no cat 1 alarm, and only 1 year cover.

I got mine for 13900 with a trade in (which I got 300 more than I expected)

so aim for around 13500? at a dealer.

Someone on here recently said they got an good part ex on their Williams from an internet importers towards a 172. Have a search for the thread.

I paid 12.5K for mine (on the road - watch out for that!) from www.thecarpeople.co.uk who happen to be based about 6 miles from my house. I rung round everywhere and that was the best price I could find about 2-3 months ago. Mines a euro import with two year warranty.

Id advise a nearly new. You literally save thousands, maybe a few miles on it but worth it in the end. Hope you find one!!

Thanks guys and gal, Ive been looking on the net and found a place doing a cup for 10990-This is the reason Im pondering over weather to get a second hand one as for a little more I can get new. Also there are a few mrk2 172s on the auto trader for 8995- are these to cheap? ie have accident damage or other major probs?

You pay as low as 8k for a mk1, around 9k+ for a mk2, so that sounds about right. Usually have high mileage on the really cheap ones. Accidents? unlikely to be the case but always advise a HPI check on used cars, theyll tell you everything you need to know.
