What car do i really have?? really need help

right when i got the car i thought it was just a FF 172 iceberg

since this rolling road day (today) i decided to do some back ground checking on my gearbox etc as they requre the ratios

well this is where the plot thickens !!!!

on reviewing the info that reno printed out for me when i first got the car and the RAC checks that i run and the log book, all the details seem to be pointing at the car being a 172CUP!!

how can this be its got all the FF features!!!

so here is how it reads

this is where i get confuessed

engine type F4R
Engine type and suffix - F4R736
Gearbox type - JC5
Gearbox type and suffix - JC5129

so from what i gather looking at the engine and gearbox its got a cup engine and gearbox? no?

so what am i doing with cup engine and box in a FF 172?

please help

yep dose have aircon and CC

vin plate reads VF1CB1N0F********

and the log book lists it as model version - CB1N0F

Yup.

They were late 53 early 04's tho.

fare enough i thought i might be just threw me a curve ball with the engine and box numbers prob just the early engines before they decided that they were going into the cups later on,

736 was in almost all ph2 172's gearboxes seems to be whatever the hell renault felt like using that week

Doubt its a cup if it has 172 seats etc, seems pointless someone buying a cup then adding all the standard 172 parts.

there were 90odd silver 172 cups with AC

pics?

they went to JC5-130's on late 53's/04's

all 172's were F4R 736, 182's were 738's
