im lookin for about 100-150bhp no 2.0 litres tho

ive checked on a 206 xsi and a zetec s .. and there about £1,100

if the 4k you were willing to spend includes your insurance deposit (or even full whack) then that's the likes of civic sport, swift sport and lupo gti outta the question lol

Yaris T Sport. Fairly nippy, very reliable, insurance group 8 or 9? & can be picked up in your price bracket.

I would go for a Lupo GTi or save up another 1K & go for a Panda 100hp
Panda is only group 5 insurance & does 40 mpg

Im thinkin of swappin my KA for one of the above as my daily driver.

If insurance and running costs arent too much of a problem u could get a nice Mk1 172 for 4k

Think they are insurance group 17 so probably pretty high
I used to pay about 500 with 7 years no claims

Punto GT (1.4 turbo) or Punto HGT (1.8) Both group 14 and 15 insurance and both fun as I have owned both. Around when I was your age too.
