padle shift gear change doesnt do it for me??!?!!

  Ziel Nurburgring

seat leon(Poss a bit expensive), Megane coupe, astra coupe turbo (Top of budget 10k and insurance), golf 1.8t loads to choose from....

Depends on how many miles you do.
How about a kit car though cheap insurance and usually faster than anything else for the money.

New shape 1.4 megan?

Corsa SRI

Skoda Fabia

Mg Zr 160 build is terriable worse than Renault IMO though

Honda Civic

I have to admit that even cars which I would think of as reliable ie Honda Ive been hearing bad things about. A mate at work had a 1.2 Clio and traded it for a Jazz and even with all the problems she had with the Clio she still says it was better than the Honda she hates it that much she wants rid of it ASAP

I want something a little bit more wow!!! theres one of those _ _ _ _ _ type cars!! I do about 15k a year!!

new C2 VTR has the paddles, the GT doesnt, limited to 2250 and its good fun... anyone who sl*gs it hasnt driven it.... off the top of my head £10,400 will buy you one OTR and free insurance....

The paddles are great once you hav gotused to it by the way... most people only driv one for ten minutes and its hard work, after that you learn to use it properly and its good, got alot quicker times in reality than they book at aswell.

Do you want my card? ;)

I like the look of the C2 GT and its a definite step up from 1.2 16v. You could get a MK2 172 for that money easily and choose carefully and check with renault as to what warranty work its had done already and you could end up with a mint one. Thats how id go about buying a second hand 172.

So get a GT then... its got a manual box...

The C2 GT will get you free insurance, assuming your between 21-80, and if for any reason you arent eligable for that deal you get a £600 contribution to your insurance ( have to insure it with citroen to get that deal) quite good for a reasonably quick and definetly fun car, once you have sussed how to make it go at its best its great - a little like the valver.

they are really taking off now, we sold 2 today, the whole c2 range is really popular and doesnt suffer the sh*te peddals and cramped driving position of the saxo.

Ian why dont you have a ring round for 172 insurance you wanted to make your 1.2 look like one so why not get one. The extra £ maynot be that much and if you like one that much why take away what you want for the matter of a few quid.

Insurance is going to be bad anyway so the extra for a 172 maynot be as big as you think.

Why not keep the car the money your going to spend/ loose is going tobe big.

Otherwise what about an MG ZR good handling and stand out more than most other cars. You should be able to get a 120hp one

Smart car?

New KA for £5k and spend the extra on mods or an old 1.8 Clio

New Micra. Well they stand out.

the c2 is a good choice if youre looking for a compromise between decent performance and cheap insurance, i wasnt too keen on the looks or the paddle shift box though, although i know the gt has the manual box

Fun maybe, but for £10400 theres far superior cars available and i guess there free insurance has limitations regarding points ,claims etc, most manufacturers clutchless manual gearboxes are sh*t,paddles or not go for a manual...

Never seen a modified ITR, always thought they rode a bit high and that white is like a weird cream...that red one is sweet! Id consider one if i was in Iains position defo!
