What causes this noise/vibration?

  Clio172
Hi,
Bit of advice please. Ive used search but cant seem to find anything that describes these noises/vibrations.

When I put the car into 1st gear ie pulling away from a stopped position sometimes I get a noise like a clunk...is that the engine mount?. It doesnt happen all the time though.

Also when idleing, there is vibration from the floor/under the car through the seats, only happens when idleing not normail driving, is this the 4k rattle?.

Cheers guys.

Check your dogbone mount mate, its at the bottom of the block, at the back. The bushes are made of s**t

Not sure thats the mounts to be honest. Would happen everytime. Esp when under load aswell. (Hills) etc.

If it had been the mount bushes, wouldnt these have been picked up on the mot. Just had that done at the beginning of the month, when I bought the car.
Any ideas on the vibration?

Nope no need unless they were bad.
Sounds more likly your just shoving it into gear to much and the sncros don't like it but the mounts are a posibiluty.

Try plipping the throttle when you drop it into first.

Mine vibrates if I pull away in 1st gear in a hurry ;) found it to be the bracket where the Cat bolts onto the manifold banging agaist the subframe! and the vibration coming through the steering wheel, still does it now, getting the 'dog bone' mountings changed though see if that helps abit!
