I have h&r's and tbh its a bit s**te on the road (uneven B roads I mean) compaired to just lowering springs. First coilover'd car ive had tho so could just be what they are like.
But on track it is amazing!
Not sure if some cheeper kits with adjustable damping would be any better
s**t on the road?!?!?! They are proper suspension with proper damping and setup properly with the correct spring rates. Lowering a car on standard shocks is never a great way as u are making the original shocks do something they were never supposed to do. ur putting them under more stress and the dampers arent working as they should do. The car usually feels bouncy by just fitting springs. However its ok if ur on a small budget.
As for the cheaper kits with adjustment- I wouldnt entertain them, as less has been spent on damping and rebound research etc. thats why they are usually hard as nails, aswell as the components and the quality of the parts used are cheaper, hence why they are cheaper to buy! u get what u pay for!
