What do I do

I have a 1.9 diesel (waits for the laughs) mk1 clio.

It is far to slow, and I have been cosidering getting a 1.8 16v. Problem is I do from 40 - 100 miles a day! So it would be pretty damn expensive to run?

Is it possible to get my diesel converted to a turbo diesel? and what other diesel turbo engines could fit?

cheers

  Renault Laguna Coupe

For the amount it would cost youd be better off just trading the car for a more powerful diesel. My first Clio was a 1.9 RTD!

Say you do 500 miles a week and your doign 50mpg now then a petrol will/should do about 35mpg so that an extra £16 a week your pouring in the tank.

Forget adding a turbo to your enigne, the TD is a completly different engine it has new pistons, lower compression ratio, its different in so many ways. Dropping a TD engine in there is an option and it has been doine but its a lot of effort and unless your getting free labour and you want somehting diferent Id recoment selling and buying a TD.

The Laguna TD 1.9 is the only one I know of dropped in a Mk1 Clio but the others would fit with some effort Id guess.

IS the car realy bad if so might be worth giving it a full service and strip the ca out which will make it a bit quicker.
