Only ever heard good things about it tbh. Never needed to use it personally but one friend has used it in all manner of things inc vans and trucks (he's a truck mechanic).

Honestly. I was a sceptical as you but he has no reason to recommend it to me at all, we were just discussing it and I was saying the same as you! If I need to do a hgf in the future ill give it a bash and see what happens.

He did add that you follow the instructions to the letter or its pointless doing it.

Yeah I have heard a while ago someone recommended it to me last year when my gasket went, I said bulls**t but it seems to be working for people....

Just Googled it and most threads on it are on the MG Rover forums (surprise surprise!). Best asking on there I think, they probably carry a bottle in the car.

LOL wouldn't surprise me... Well Sam if you dont have the cash to upfront the fix this can be a temporary fix untill you can fund it thats why its a product worth knowing about in terms of a quick fix.

untill it blocks the water galleries ....... seriously fix a headgasket properly or don't drive it there are no end of things it could do to an engine if you pour that in

If it's filling gaps that aren't meant to be there, it's filling gaps that are meant to be there too.

Similar product to "k-seal" by the looks of it.

It does kind of work for a while, but is just a horrific bodge and ends up clogging up the engine, it turns to a kind of jelly in the water ways and then over time that gets filled with rust specs etc and becomes an even larger restriction.

If its a banger you have bought for 100 quid and the gasket is leaking water and you want to get a few thousand more miles out of it then by all means give it a go, if its a decent car that you want to keep then bear in mind that longer term its likely to cause more problems than it solves.

I've seen the repairs these truck mechanics do!
Our company Volvo 7.5t once had a hold in the block repaired with fibreglass! Got over 15,000 miles from it before it died. (died from another issue, not the fibreglass)

err when it heats up it cooks , and stays sealed ? never done the radiator fix with an egg before ?

Yes but it'd be much funnier if he cracked an egg then watched it cook in seconds and stay floating in the header tank all poached and s**t.

I made scrambled eggs once with a metro.
Rad had a small leak, so went for the trusty egg fix.
Turned out the mounting lug under the rad had snapped off and I had a 2p sized hole!
Egg went it, round the engine, and out the bottom of the rad, scrambled as fook!

I was a little pissed off at the time, places to go, running late etc.
My mate thought it was funniest thing he'd seen all year.
looking back on it does bring a smile to my face.

May fix it for about a week and make changing the head gasket after using it about 5x harder. Apparently they make a complete mess inside the block.

Yep, ONLY worth doing to slightly prolong life if the next thing the car is doing is getting scrapped really. If you are going to fix it properly then do so straight away not fill your engine full of sludge first.
It does last longer than a week in a lot of cases though, I know people who have done thousands of miles like it!

just fix the problem properly

If I had like a 1.2 with head gasket leak then I would probably use it then buy a second hand engine for like £150 and put that in. I heard stories it completely rots and corrodes all the cooling hoses and channels. If you want to clean the head up and replace the head gasket it is a nightmare to remove.

Can clog up the radiator etc too, so can still effect a new engine.

Hi there i work for motorworld we sell this product.... Yes I've had loads of customers rave about it and how they got rid of the car for more money etc etc ... I have personal use of this as I used it on my mrs Audi a3 1.6 ..... After it turned to sludge and reuined the thermostat it then set about blocking up the heater matrix ....... We sold the car for 770quid...... Ur gamble but my review it cost me loads more in the probs it caused ... It's sodium silicate and it will turn to a thick white gel in certain conditions ... Pay a specialist get it done right first time

Worked a treat on an old shitter I purchased a while ago, sold it to a mate of mine a year ago and its still going strong.
gasket on the car had blown from water jacket to cylinder so run up with plug out and after around 10 mins of running it was sorted, car was a little Peugeot.
