what does a stock cat back consist of?

Ive just ordered my janspeed cat bak system from ktec and have been reading alot of threads on here about going about lowering the rear beam to get the old system off.

is this because the backboxes are welded onto the center section?

ive just had a look under my car and can only assume its had a new center section at one point or something as the center silencer bang next the the cat, then theres about half a meter or so of pipe then another clamp, then some more pipe to the backboxes.

So surely id just have to unclamp the center section from the backboxes and slide it out without needing to lower the rear bar?

have you not already got an aftermarket on then or does it look like a direct replacement(rusty old piece of s**t)

Ah right so mine must have had a new center section at some point then so i should be able to just unjoin it and get the lot off easy enough.

The backbox looks like a standard one, but the center section must have been changed at some point, its not rusty, and its not all one piece.
