What does you 182 idle at?

the ecu will always have a target idle speed of 850 rpm assuming hot and all things being well.

Ben mine idles at about 850 I'd say but with the new exhaust it seems to not like it if that makes any sense. I mean that at that idle speed it seems to sort of "chug chug" and there's a bit of vibration at the tail end of the system.

Due to lack of back pressure at low revs?

thanks in advance for any answers u might be able to give

Very hard to say if it is the cause, did it change after you had the exhasut fitted?

I dounbt the system has any more back pressure, more so it'll have less.

Mine kind of chugs when at idle. I have always thought it was just the way the car is built lol maybe its a fault.

Yup, my 172 is exactly the same.... very uneven at tickover. I try and blag my mates when they notice by saying it's because it has wild rally cams. lol.

172's do not idle 'smoothly', they do have a characteristic chug, especially when not hot.

Can I expect a 182 to be smoother running or to have the same 'chug'??

My 172 is somewhat chuggy on idle (MK2 172) but i put that down to the fact that most performance cars are roughly the same. Its designed to have its tit's revved off so i guess its a repercussion or that.

But agreed would be nice if it worbled a little nicer :)
