What Gearbox Oil?

Whats the best gearboz oil for my clio 1.2 dynamique.

Renault quoted me £240 for 20 litres of it.What a joke!

Any Suggestions?

20 litres of gearbox oil!! How many cars did they think you are doing?!

You only need 3.1 litres for the gearbox i think

iirc you need 75/80w DL5 gearbox oil. Castrol do it.

That will be fine. I've used it before in JB1/3 gearboxes and was an improvement over standard. Now whether it'll make the difference you've been told I doubt.

The thing is renault told me I had the wrong gearbox oil in my gearbox which was cauding some movement in the diff. This led to knocking and crunching.

The mechanic who put it in refused to refund me the cost so Ive reported him and action will be taken in due course.

Thats renault b****cks at its finest. The wrong/not enough oil causes them to jump out of 5th then kills the box not the knocking you get due to the soft mounts.

As I said before they'll take £90 of you and spin you some b****cks.
