Means you can only put it on the tyre one way (arrow pointing towards the front of the car) for grip reasons IIRC. Mostly so that water disperses quicker helping eliminate aquaplaning.

Isn't it just a directional tyre? eg. Goodyear F1

yeah it should be fitted with the arrows rotating forward!! for max grip

lots more road noise, and less grip in the wet from incorrectly fitted directionals. It's not a great thing to do
