what is dying?? (box or linkage)

changing gear is feeling more and more like a pudding spoon in gravey!
there is so much movement left to right in each gear,
and first and second seemed to have moved so far to the left that you have to push hard left to find them! (as well as reverse!!)

would changing my linkage solve this little issue or is it more likely to be my box??

take the gearstick gatior off and and check the housing in which the ball sits in is not split by putting it in and out of the gears. i had to change the housing on my old valver because of the exact problem.

nope the housing isnt cracked at all, (ive got zero interior so no need to remove things )
