what is the top speed on a 1.2 8v????

hi, just curious what is the top speed on a 1.2 mk2 ph1 8v when it is compleatly standard??? it seems quite happy at 90 and has quite alot left. any ideas?

1.2 Grande will do 0 - 60 in 14.5 seconds and its top speed is 100 mph. 60BHp Sohc 8v.

The 16v has a top speed of 106mph (Supposedly)

my speedo is probabli nakered then lol, it broke once and it was changed (before i owned it), i think it was doin bout 5000rpm, thinkin bout it now its not happy at 5000rpm it sounds like its gonna blow up lol. speed machine lol 14.5 seconds 100mph. dont think id ever try any faster dont wanna get caught.

Ive seen 114MPH GPS on a 1.2 Corsa.

It just takes aaaaaaaages to get an extra few MPH at those speeds! lol

I've had an indicated 110-115 in my 1.4 8v, a bit more in it but takes too long to get there.

As long as its dry, not windy and clear roads, it felt reasonably ok at those speeds. I didn't do it often and neither would I want to on those skinny tyres, but for a short blast whilst the motorway's quiet it seemed ok.

haha, i reckon 100 is possible on a big hill with a bit of wind and patience!!

you can always squeeze a bit more out of them in the right conditions, i managed to get a phase 1 saxo vtr to 130 before, book claimed it would do 116 tops.

The car will go as fast as the gearing/limiter will allow and I suspect it is well below some of the claimed figures people on CS will tell you tbh.

No flaming, its just fact that 115-120 in a 1.2 is dreaming in a car with 60bhp.

i hav had 115 out ov my 16v took a while to get ther but it done it

I think it'll do roughly 105 (GPS). Indicated that could be anywhere from 95-115.

Must have a big hill and help from the wind.

clock's are never correct at highspeeds anyway your clio was proberly doing 80-85 mph not tryin to piss on your bonfire tho, save the speed for when you buy a bigger engined car mate makes it worthwhile

Seems to take years to go from 110 upwards lol
