What is this? And what is leaking?

Please forgive my ignorance, but what is this, and why is it leaking? It feels like oil of some kind

Gearbox out and strip job.
Couldn't say a price at a garage but id be charging around £150 - £200

I'm looking to get rid of the car the end of next month, could I keep topping it up until then? And would part exchanging in this condition be morally wrong???

All of them leak! People get them fixed for sometimes several weeks at a time! Don't worry about it unless it's leaving puddles on the floor

Ill do mine when i get the box out to do the synchros but untill then im not worrying about it

Mines like that doesn't leave any drips on the drive but looks like it's going to and was only rebuilt less then 18 month ago
