What is this sensor ?

It's the biggest one that looks like its snapped off out the inlet ?

Air pressure sensor, or temperature sensor I think. Someone will know for sure

Would the car not start an would the engine management light come on if it was broke ?

When mine snapped off it wouldnt start, i glued it back on as a temp fix and it was very rough running.

Not to expensive second hand

The MAP Sensor is pretty essential and ithe ECU shouldn't allow the car to run without it. if it did you could expect it to rev its nuts off to.

clio spares, £17.50 delivered. Think they were about £80 isn new from renault, but that was about 2 years ago and my memory is s**t!
