What is this, should it be connected?

I saw this while looking at my leaking/blowing exhaust.

What is this, looks like it should attach to the torsion bar! Looks like the clip has broken off.

A common failure I'm afraid.

I fit a new cup and ball type connection made from Aluminium and make a rod as Renault will only supply a new rod with a motors assembly for around £48 + vat

Its made up from bits that you can buy from a kit car builders. I don't sell parts only though I'm afraid
