What is your next car & why?

Audi A5 3.0 TDI
Cause family car, my misses is in love with them. 60mpg, 300bhp and 500 torque after map. And 5ish seconds to 60.
Perfect family car  and it keeps her happy.

I want a forged JDM sti before a house or anything. The missus's choice can wait.

Edited for accuracy. Besides the Scooby is a practical, 4WD rocket-ship that is good for a family. :tongueout:

In all seriousness, have you actually been in the back of an A5? Unless your kids are super-small - forget it. I had more headroom in the back seat of a 911. Admittedly - that particular A5 was only a three-door one, not five.

I took a test drive in a 2.0 JTDm Alfa Giulietta today and I am very tempted to buy it.
It was the 170bhp version and went very well, it was also very quiet smooth and handled well.

It is a sensible enough car for the family, but not too common like a Ford/Vauxhall/VW which is why it appeals.

You need the car's and customer service to be good when your buying these car's blind mate.

My cars just arrived at Torque-gt work shop from Southampton docks.

Hopefully I'll get emailed a few pictures of it.
Proper excited but still a 3 week wait.

I'm a very patient person but one thing I just can't deal with is waiting to pick up a new car!

Btw, any idea of what prep/servicing Torque GT do with their imports? Or does it vary a lot? I'm due it's first service since coming from Torque GT but not sure how far I should go? Think of taking it to Perfect Touch Performance in Hoddesdon, Herts as can't seem to find any subaru specialists in Essex. Any recommendations there as I see you're also in Essex?

I love the 695 Biposto but it's a bit extreme for driving to work in lol

Absolutely no idea.

I have a want list in my head, but that's restricted by money! Whatever I get - it HAS to be involving. I despise generic. Cars loaded with three pages of option lists, but have the feedback and involvement of a dishwasher. :unamused:

I have to accept that my 'preferred' choices are now slowly fading away. Old Honda screamers. Large capacity N/A lumps, for the most part. Crude force-fed 4G63's...... all are being pushed aside for more efficient, smaller capacity engines. Worse, I simply couldn't abide the idea of lugging around the weight of a small passenger in the form of batteries. Hybrid? Yep - when I have no other option at all left.

An R26.R interests me. But they seem to be holding their value really well.
R26.R do it

I was throwing the 197 around a B road last night and i honestly dont think I could get rid of it. To coin munson's favorite saying they really are the last of the old school hatches with the big(ish) NA lump upfront.

Revving the tits off it, chassis in its element box (touching wood) sweet as f**k. I think you should try one (200 cup) on the boil. More refined than a MK2 but still has plenty of soul

I'd like to get the new version on my current whip. The 330D M Sport Saloon, I'm thinking I'd like to get it in Auto though :astonished:. Current one is manual and i love it, but the new 8 speed auto sport box is just ridiculously good.

Hey bud.

I have direct imported my Spec c type ra which torque-gt have only had at there workshop from Friday.

So far the service ive received from them has been top notch, I was told yesterday that there no trace of the cambelt being replaced but I would have been.

I emailed them back last night and was greeted by an email first thing this morning saying that they are going to do it anyway as part of the inspection service which is at no cost to me.

I'm paying for the alarm to be fitted.
I'm going to ask on Scoobynet who is the best specialist to essex to use, however ill be doing the servicing on my car myself. [emoji1]

That's part of my point. Hot hatches are one genre of cars that I think will never fail to impress. Unfortunately, the manufacturers are under a lot of pressure to deliver performance, economy and that over-burgeoning H&S stuff. Give it a few more years and new drivers will be horrified and in a state of shock that a tin box like the 106 GTi ever existed.

The new Civic Type-R is another one for me - though way out of my price range currently. Although compared to the Golf R in the Top Gear review, it sounds to me like it fills the gaps where the R is a bit lacking. The negative comment about the steering feel is the only aspect I think I would want to explore more before committing to one.

I'd love one of those £50k Abarths you know the new track spec one where if you choose every option its daaaaamn expensive.

I know its stupid but I'd much rather one of those than some audi or bmw. No one would expect a little 500 to be so quick!

So what is everyone got there sights set on next>?

Will it be faster than your current car, or will you go for planet saver that is the DIEsel?

Mines is hopefully going to be a Civic Type R ek9.

One of the fastest Naturally asspirated cars ever, 1600cc @ 185 bhp.

Anyone else?!?

I can safely confirm that i did not buy an EK9, and bought a house instead...

The house will be paid off in 20 years, but apparently EK9's have a cracking LSD.

Disclaimer;

You can sleep in a car but you can't take a house to a track day.

Heres to many more. *ching*

When Jack here is inevitably spot on, i'd like to be suitably mocked and quoted.

Called it.

Well played, Jack. Well played.

I did quote myself after 7 years so anything goes.

Ek9 will be worth more than the house in 20 years won't it?
