What oil to use?

i have a 2002 clio 172 and the oil lights saying low

what oil do i need?

The oil light or the display?

If its the oil light i wouldnt bother and just start looking for a new engine

He must be meaning the 6 bar oil level on start up not low oil warning. Light''s''

Never rely on those, check the oil manually mate

sorry my fault, the display shows ----- (somthing like that)

checked it and its abit low on the dip stick!

use 5/40 fully syn then?

5 40w fully synthetic. And always check it regularly if its loosing oil. It should not loose any really.

i think you were on the verge of learning the hard way, or it may still be the case These engines take a lot of abuse; running low oil is not one of the abuses it will take
