What Price Should i be Looking At

I can drive in a few months and am wanting to get a Clio Mk2 Expression 1.2 16v 3Dr for my first car, just so its cheap on the insurance!

I was wondering what sort of prices i should be looking at for a good quality, low milage car!

Parkers says:

Renault Clio Hatchback
1.2 16V Expression 3d 2001/51

Average mileage: 30,000 miles

Original Price :: £7995

Dealer Retail :: £5215

Private Good :: £4615

Private Poor :: £3635

Trade :: £4105

But i wondered what you guys thought because i know sometimes these prices can be a little off especially when looking at cars that are of a better quality with lower/higher milage!

Best thing I found when buying used is to look around, like you say the miles a car has done affects price but not necessarily condition, say you have a 51 plater with 20K on clock, may be a sh*t tip inside and has not been looked after, on the other hand there may be a 51 plater with 50k on clock and has been looked after from day 1. Try and go for a car with FSH or even better FRSH. Also helps if you have a mate who knows his stuff on cars, if not, try and get an inspection done (I did on one car and found out it had been in a smash!!!) I know you have probably done this but do a search on Autotrader website and compare cars, take a look at a few and dont buy 1st one you see. Sorry to go on, but I am bored/excited waiting to goto garage to pick my car up:) Hope some of this advice makes sense, cos reading back, I aint to sure, its too early!!!!

Full Service History, Full Renault Service history, glad I could help mate, happy car hunting, looking is part of the fun by the way :)
