You cant mix the Mhz up.

The new one is likely to be running 400Mhz ram (PC 3200), your is 266Mhz (I think or 300 odd)

s**t, yeah i was way off the mark on that, i ment different voltages, SD/DDR (Even though that would have nothing to do with it seen has he has DDR anyhow )
