what shall I do

I have check some fault at Reault this monring and I have told them can you check how much break pad I have left for my car. I got this car 3 months ago and have drove for 6500 miles since the milage of 16000.

This afternoon they have told me that I have about 10% left of the pad and urgently replace a new pair. I was shocking because when I have the car in april. The dealer told me that it will replace a new pad if it has less than 60%(also he told me they have done a full service). So I assume they did not replace a new pad and indeed It must be around 30-40 when I got the car. Now I need to spend around 70 from renault, cos I have no choice I need the car by tomorrow for work.

I am so piss of because I never expect I will run of the break pad so early. I should be able to have the money back from the dealer. Renault service department told me that they will keep remains left pad for me and prove to the dealer.

16000 milage, ran 6000 miles. need a new break pad after 3 months. This is insence.

You should be fine using the car till the weekend.

£20 for some pads down at Halfords etc and you can fit them yourself very easily quite quickly.

My pads only lasted 19K before I needed to change them these present set (stock) wont last as long.

Even if there only 5% left assuming there original pads (very likely) your still ok for another thousand miles at least.

If there original brakes then they have done well surviving for 22k

Im suprised Renault didnt demand they swopped them.

Still £70 is cheap mine wanted £90.

They are likly to be way more than they claim Renault said mine were 80% gone and they were more like 70% they do this to protect themselves and to get you to get some new pads done I think.

i mean whenever the dealer is cheating on me. I assume I might be able to claim some cash from them. I cant see they can get away from this problem, since they do wear out and you cant avoid them.

I really want to know what is it all about full service and check break pad and last for another 18000. (bull sh*t). I have already not complain about the engine oil and coolent not replace. But I am really shocking about the breakpad.

dealers are full of it take it for a free check at an ats first.

for example reno traffic van goes in for its first service 18k (front brake pads 50% worn) then goes in for its 36k service (front brake pads 50% worn.............) um WTF!?! the explination I recieved was too funny to mention

ATS said they were screwed when at 42k so got them changed there £42 cheaper than a dealer

I want to go for a cheaper place. I know many places is much cheaper than renault, but I have no time to find and book a place. Cos I need a car to work.

ATS just right down of my road, I assume I could save 20-30 pounds. Anyway I go for a reault is the right to tell the dealer than he is cheating on me.

Depends on how hard you drive the car tbh, it is possible that youve gone through that much pad in those miles.

The pads that was on my car before i got them had 80% left on them... 4k later i needed new pads!!!!! And i would change them asap beacuse i didnt and needed new discs also because i left it for so long

Little Newms
