hey up guys new member here.
Im pretty into my trackdays, and have amassed a fair amount of hours track work at places such as the ring in drive a mk2 Octavia vRS 2.0T.
Mods:
upgraded high pressure fuelpump, ITG maxogen full induction kit, turbo back exhaust, discharge pipes, stage 3 remap, coilovers, anti roll bars, anti lift kit, uprated discs/pads and fluid running 287hp 305lbft.
as you can see its pretty heavily fettled now. but is used as my every day drive as well as a track tool. my missus who used to love it now hates it as it is now to harsh for normal driving for her.
She is now being reverted back to standard and i was going to change her for an impreza STI. but i feel drawn to the idea of buyiong a diesel family saloon for her, and a clio 172/182 as a track tool, as id be able to do both for the less than the cost of my octavia or an STI.
having only been involved in turbo'd cars, i have a few questions about N/A tuning.
what sort of gains could i see with a performance downpipe, induction kit, and remap on both the 172 and 182.
im not bothered about huge power, as i think id be interested in stripping out the weight from the clio if i was to get one.
so on that front, would it be worthwhile just leaving the 'cup' suspension as is, and maybe just changing the anti roll bars, and fitting an LSD and uprating the brakes
would removing removing all the seats(front and rear- to be replaced with some light weight buckets), removing all the door cards and carpets etc etc have an adverse effect on the handling. obviously the car would be lighter, but the standard springs were specced to work with car at its standard weight???
anybody have any links to cars that have been track prepped(whilst still being road legal)
