What should I expect to pay!!!



  172 cup
Been wanting a 172 for ages now and ive seen one but its a the dealers where I bought my now clio and I would have to trade in i.e. Im constrained as to where I can buy one.

Ive seen a 172 in black with 58k on the clock what would you expect to pay?

Thats for a 2002 172 with 60k miles on.

Sorry do you mean a Phase one or two?

Buy privatley but make sure she has been treated well, it cost me a fortune to put the neglect right that the car sufered before i had it

Need a few more details to be sure? Colour/age/history/belts? For a late one, from a Renault Dealer, I can see you'd have to pay £5.5k-£6k to be fair. Whether that's a good price or not is open to debate - because you can get a tidy 182 for £6k privately now - although some people don't like buying privately which is of course their choice and is completely understandable. Also as you say, you want to trade in. How much are you expecting for yours - as the buy price isn't as relevent if you can get a good trade, it's the cost to change you really need to concentrate on. Ok so if it's £500 overpriced, will they give you a higher trade in than elsewhere?

Very good points made here, the likley hood is the dealer will give you no where near what there selling for privatley!
