What size ball joint splitter do i need for removing the wishbone ball joints?

hi, my scissor ball joint separator wont fit, so i need to get myself a fork shaped one. does anyone know what width i should get (not at home to measure) as there is a few different sizes.

also, which is better- a shorter one that you smack with a hammer, or a longer (+ expensive) one that you can lean on?

any advise on fitting new ones?

the fork splitter from halfords fits fine

thanks for that. i was gonna save a bit of cash and get one from ebay for a fiver, but having read that these can break, sometimes after a single use, i think i'll get one from halfords, at least i can keep taking it back if i keep breaking it.
