What size tyres/rims can I get

Ive got £700 to spend and im after some 17" wheels (with Tyres) for my Mk3 Clio 1.2 16v. What wheels do you guys reckon would look best? Whats the widest wheels and tyres I can go for WITHOUT any rubbing whatsoever and how much should I lower it? I was thinking 35mm

I really like the look of OZ velas or superleggras. Dont bother with a 35mm drop (wont make that much of a difference), go 60mm. Sorry i cant help you with tyre width, although im pretty sure 7x17 would be suitable.

yep 7x17 on 205/40 tyres ET37 60mm is a must!!!!!

Cheers guys, ne1 got a pic of 17"s with both a 35 and 60mm drop? Wat sort of difference does it make to the ride, does it crash over bumps a lot?
