What speakers are ppl using in RCS

Hi Everyone!

Actually, Im looking for maximum speaker depth that can be used with the factory holes in a 2002 Clio Sport (or maybe the depth including a bit of mdf spacer or something).

Ive asked at a few places, and nobody seems to know/say.

So alternatively, can anyone tell me what type of speakers (make and model) they have installed into the factory holes in a cliosport? (then I can look up the depth for myself!)

Thanks!

fitted a set of 6.5" kenwood dual mags in my mates clio (mk2 ph2)

they did not just fit straight in though

What did you have to do to get them to fit? Was it a problem with the depth or hole-size? Or both? If you had to enlarge the holes, how much work is it to do that?

Im really just trying to find out what will fit in the factory holes, but nobody seems to say! I havent got my car yet, which is why Im asking.

The mounting depth is not too grate. Tbh it would be best to stick with the std sized speakers. If you were to get some bigger ones like 6.5" then you would find it difficult to install, mainly due to depth. But if i remember correctly, behind the hole there is this plastic cover thingy and u could cut that but it sounds like too much effort if you ask me.

Yeah, maybe width wise they will fit easily... but I dont know about the depth. Theyre fairly deep speakers which is why Im trying to find out what will fit. The three types of splits Im thinking of are 6.1cm, 7.1cm or 7.7cm. Do you reckon theres enough depth there for that? Cutting plastic out of the way is fine. I dont mind that. I just dont want to cut metal or make new pods if I can avoid it :)

Nah, thats what I said a few posts back - I havent got the car yet and so I want to plan my system so I can budget for it etc... But yeah, If I had the car Id just go measure it myself!
