What suspension next?

Bought sum gaz coiovers not too long ago, £500 spent and iv got a clio thats twichy and not as fun to drive as standard. Finally scraped together enough cash for something new but cant decide wot to buy?? everyone rates H+R'S but its a lot of cash to spend. My 172's my daily driver so not too fussed about having the best setup, but dont wana buy again and be dissapointed. So suggestions would be good. Do i go for cup dampers and sportline springs? Or bite the bullet and get H+R? A nice ride height and comfy ride are a must.

when you say iv got a clio thats twichy in what way ? when they was fited did you just shove them on the car or did you have them setup properly and have you fited camber bolts ?

Im a renault tech so was confident i could tackle the job. I fitted them, did a few miles in them, then i adjusted the ride height all round ( its approx 30 - 40mm lower than standard) adjusted front camber to -1 degree. Ive also played with the damper settings, but not happy with it. Its just a bit scary at speed down roads that are the slightest bit bumpy.. the car just skips over the bumps.. as if the spring rates or the dampers are too hard.

OK that's just how gaz coilovers are i would say your best bet would be kw v2 or h&r coilovers both kits are supposed to be good or if you have the cash go for the bilstein pss9 kit from yozzasport its very good on the road even better over the bumps

most people i know with the gaz kit are running neg 2 deg camber but that would not make any difference on the bumps you could try a white line rear anti roll bar from yozzasport they make a huge difference in the way the gaz suspension works on the road that would be worth a try first imo

Why not have a word with Mark Fish - he might be able to set them up properly so they don't try to kill you lol

Think he charges £250 to set up coilovers :)

Couldnt justify paying someone £250 quid to set them up. The ride height is spot on all round so that cant be the problem, -1 degree negative front camber and iv tried multiple damper settings. Surely theres not much more a specialist could do apart from corner weighting etc, but even that wouldnt affect how the car handles the bumps. I think il try the whiteline rear anti roll bar, see how that goes, then maybe go for the H+R'S.
