Here's the car as it stands today...

Anyway..

Plan 1

H&R's £750
Fitting and alignment etc £150
Side badges Artic blue with anthracite number's £30

Plan 2

Yozzasport full system £389
Fitting and de-cat making £60
Eibach sportline's £135
Fitting £80
Ferado DS2500 pads £100
Brembo maxi discs £100
Side badges Artic blue with anthracite number's £30

I am doing a trackday at curburough sprint track mid june, and also a trackday in July aswell..

I know plan2 is a more complete package but not sure if its worth getting H&R's and then, exhaust and brakes over the following two month's.

Cheers Guys Rob.

Oh and the tint's are coming off !

  53 Clio's & counting
imo it depends on what your going to be using the car for mate, more track work and i would lean for option 1 (although better brakes are a must) but for occasional track use (once a month or two) then option2 would be a better way,as your uprating more aspects of the car,and would makle for a must better focused road/light track car

  RenaultSport 172.
Fk KonigSports £450

Leaving A Balance of £550

Side Badges £30

Leaving A Balance of £520

Powerflow System + Decat £300

Leaving A Balance of £220

Then A TrackDay Set of Wheels ( Roughly £150)

Leaving A Balance of £70

Then new pads, or petrolium :)

  A4 DTM/iceberg cup
brakes are the most important thing mate. on road or track no point going faster in a straight line or round corneres if you cant stop

I'm aware of that, i'm not exactly a novice, one trackday a month is alot IMO ?

Anyway, think im swaying towards the H&R's, give me a good base to start with then, just wasn't sure how MUCH better they are than sportlines for example

RAGE16V cant have FK's on cup packed 182's.

  Vectra 1.9 CDTi SRi 150
H&R are excellent coilovers as said. But I would want to know how much was to be gained over Sportlines, as there a few quid difference, not to mention set up costs.

  Mk4 .:R32
eibachs are just springs, H&Rs are height adjustable and come with much better shocks imo. So you can play with the settings to suit your driving

no brainer really, plan 2 a car that sounds/brakes better and is slightly lower or plan1 just a car that handles better?

That car used to be down here in Southampton I'm sure of it.

Used to see it everyday :)

Yes, i bought it from there, long trip it was :) Love it though :D

Riz, im kind of thinking ahead but your logic sounds about right, can always upgrade to H&R's if i'm not satisified with sportlines i suppose too.

so get the zorst/brakes and wait till you have cash to get coilies then

Don't like a car that's got a aftermarket exhaust but not lowered :L

I think i should just get it done next month and post up pictures as your all going to get annoyed with my indecision lol

Number 1. To answer your question the difference between h&r's and sportlines ride and handling wise is enormous!

Wouldnt bother with the eibachs for track use. You have much trouble with your brakes as standard?

I cooked them pretty quickly out on the road, but on track at combe they were alright, tbh it was raining and id had the car two weeks so wasnt all that used to it, was used to a turbo that died at 6k so having a car that rev's 7.5k takes a bit of getting back too again :), 182 feels like a newer version of my vts really :).

Id go plan 1, and then next month upgrade the discs, lines and pads in time for your next trackday mate. Exhaust wont make as much of a difference as the other bits.

I wouldn't bother with the exhaust at all, just get a decat and do plan 1 IMHO :)

I was under the impression a de-cat on standard system doesnt give the nicest of noises ?

I need brakes by early July, is £250 enough for a good brake setup do we think ? Cause if it is i reckon ill go H&R get yozza to set them up and buy the brakes the month after. Cheers

You would need to spend more than 1k i reckon to see any real noticible performance gains.Coils and brakes are a good way to go

Yeah £250 should be fine for brakes mate.

Braided lines and dot 4 fluid, brembo max discs (about £90 on ebay) and ds2500 pads will work well on both road and track.
