What to do/who to tell about changing steering wheel

Right so I can't get a straight answer via google, and couldn't find anything via search, I am considering changing my steering wheel to one without an airbag but what do I need to do to make sure it will pass its mot? Also I know I must tell insurance company about it too.

Tell the insurance, yes. It's a modification.

As for MOT, it'll pass if you manage to fit the correct resistors so to not bring the airbag light on.

That's what I wanted to hear! Instead of just jamming a couple resistors in is there a plug and play solution?

Also, I assume the passenger airbag will still work?

Passanger airbag will work all the same.

if you don't want to use resistors you could try and get hold of airbag dummies. Or take it to Renault who can deconfigure the airbag.

FYI airbag dummies are basically like a resistor that Renault make that connect to the connecter properly. Not a stunt dummy lol.

You can get them from Renault but their more of a Renault tool for checking if an airbag has a fault. I could imagine the parts man saying their not available. I think their about £10 each.

ill have a look on Tuesday to see if I can find a part number.

That would be MASSIVELY appreciated, thanks!
