What to look for...

Going to go and look at a cup this evening at a local garage. Its dont 40k and is up for £7295.

Just wanted to know what to look out for on a cup thats done that mileage.

what reg is it mate? just look for general wear and tear, see if its had the services for a 40k mile car. also check any reciepts they have to see if it has had any problems.

I think its an 02 reg. i'll have a look on trader and get the reg for it.

- tyre wear
- service history (including aux belt at 36k)
- panel alignment
- curbed wheels
- any knocking or vibrations
- make sure you get up to motorway speeds and listen out for any noises in the steering or suspension

etc etc.

Oh and don't buy on the spot, come back and have a think about it. You don't want to jump into something here.

Its the second one down. I have looked at it before. but they wanted £8500 for it last time i looked. They have obviously realised its not worth that much.

It looked to have 4 new tyres on, but because of the price i didnt bother taking it out last time. so will be sure to this time.

Im going to see if they will let me take it for an hour, so i can pop and see my dad in it, so he can have a look over it, plus that will give it a good run out, and hopefully highlight any problems.

I'll see what deal they offer me, and what history it comes with, then come back and let you guys know what they say and see if its a good deal or not.

Just did an RAC check and its only had 1 owner from new. So hopefully most of those miles will be motorway, and they will have looked after it properly.
