What to look out for!

SO...its a mk1...
er..bodywork....
look out for rust...doors....arches....blah blah...
if its got a sunroof...see if its leaking...commom problem with mk1's
see if the blowers work...couple i know of dont work...
er..basically just the usual...fsh?
lots of mileage?
wear left on tyres?
Mot?
Tax?
the usual youd check for...
And Signs of an accident?
tbh, theyre not bad cars!,.,,just look out for that rust...inside the arch aswell as the outside....and the leakin sunroof!

ask for a drive or to be driven, check the breaks too.
Id only get a mk1 if it had been mot'd in the last month or two.
Check tryres (the tread) spare tyres, look at the engine, check to see if the engine idles ok, min sounds like a f**king tin can but meh it works allrite (mine is a mk2 btw)
general wear and tare, just dont expect it to be perfect.
Suspension, check that s**t too.
Id only get a mk1 if it had been mot'd in the last month or two.

You could try the parker giude, google parker giude and itll give you a roug evaluation of the car, respecting that itll be on average mileage and assuming its on good condition.
