What would be more advisable, Paint or Wrap

  1.2 Campus Sport
Looking to get my car colour changed, or make it more unique looking anyways.
Looking at either getting the car sprayed/wrapped in Matte Black or getting it Matte Red with a Matte Black Roof.
Car is Red as it is, but i think Red and Black go together.

What is everyone elses views or opinions, please share them :D

IMO out of all the matte colours, black just looks like a horrible home job patch up in between proper resprays.

I'd go matte red wrap (easier to change when you get sick of it) with a gloss black roof, personally - like the 200 A&D edition we got here in Aus.

The way that 200 looks is what i would love mine to look, if i had a mk3, but since its a mk2 i will probs stick with the red with black, keep it tidy looking, and thanks for the opinion, will probs do that, matte red and gloss black :)

It might look good in AUS but looks piss poor here in England. The red looks more like pink or a corsa b that's bin left out in the sun all it's life and never bin polished. The grey is the best colour but that looks best on a dull day cals raider on a dull day has a few colours in it some times it's grey black and it even looks green at times. But I think Matte paint/wrapp's may have had its day. I'd wrap it but not a matte colour.

Yeah, it looks a bit pink in the sun. Looks much better on overcast days.

I'm with the above - wrap it in a gloss colour. That's what I plan to do!

If you've got a 172/182 just be mindful that the paintwork and lacquer is getting on, they aren't exactly new cars anymore! If you're getting it wrapped you may need to sign a disclaimer saying that you can't do anything if the vinyl affects the lacquer during install or removal.

I did a few test strips on my front bumper on my 172 Cup (I was planning on just enlarging the black bits basically, very subtle!) and took off the strips a week later and did see that tiny bits of paintwork was coming off in places. Decided I didn't want to go for it just from the risk involved. Your experience may differ

Ive got a Campus Sport, 07 reg, and its capsium red, still looks to be holding well.

So wrap in gloss is the verdict ?

It may look to be alright but you won't know until you do it. I've seen horror stories of people lacquer being ripped off during application. Not a good look! Older cars, be careful of. 9 times out of 10 you'll be fine but there's always the risk

Go for a plastidip instead of a wrap if you where to go down the Matt route there are a fair few places that will do clios for around then £300-£400 mark now and I believe it's isn't as tough on the paint underneath

Plasti Dip is really good stuff, I've already posted several times saying the same thing! Just if you do it yourself, make sure to put enough layers on cos its a pain to remove otherwise!

If you're getting it wrapped go for a matte colour. Gloss wraps look s**t, like a paintjob that hasn't been lacquered properly.
