...if i was to put a 15" wheel on my car with 3 17" wheels. Actually diameter is about 2cm smaller due to different tyre profiles.

what would happen is you would have three wheels that are bigger than the spare. Silly

no need to be like that kev, would be ok as a get you home but the rolling radius would probably be off so will affect the handling so i wouldnt run it at high speeds or corner too hard and i would only use it to get to a tyre fitting place to get the 17" tyre sorted

I have a similar on my car with the wheels on the car being 205/45 16" and my spare being 195/50 15" And the spare is uni directional.

I had to last 3 days with the spare rotating the wrong way round when one of my wheels was in for repairs.

Provided I drive faster than about 80kph or corner too hard all was fine (good thing it didnt rain either.)
