what would you buy for a fast road car?

I'd get the cheapest 2.0 RS Clio I could find (Williams, 2.0 valver or 172) and spend the rest of the budget on modifications starting with suspension and brakes.

Seriously limited amount of track time available for anything that noisy, be lucky to find any in the UK. Probably need to haul your ass over to Ascari Resort or something everytime you want to run the car (with your team of engineers, obviously )

well money being no object and having an F1 car a bit of travel time wouldn't be too hard, or having a pit crew lol

forgot about this thread, but judging by a skim read of the comments, i want to point out that i am talking clio.

story basically is, keep the car and fast road conversion the little fucker, or sell her, regardless of all the mods and buy something else with the money, have another day to day car and use the track/fast road car as a toy . . .

has to be a clio. and it will be resprayed my colour and not likely to be tracked that much, just a weekend "bypass" car

keep your wee beast and do an engine conversion! yours is pretty sweet and has been repaired from bein f*cked once you might aswell finish it off and keep it imo

If no budget at all something along the lines of the Reyland Es Cosworth or Porsche GT3 RS but thats the only supercar id have as they dont float my boat really,
10k budget 5.0 fox body mustang striped caged big brakes etc
Or just keep my 172 PH1 and prep that with ITB's and cage etc

Its not about bein the fastest its about havin fun !

Xsara VTS Sub 1k for a low mileage looked after Phs1 fit a seat and do some weight adjustment and your away.

Failing that a williams would do you proud, mine however didnt lol.

Or This idea is for the budget boys, Buy a s**tter and destroy it... anything will do. Fit a seat and have some bloody good fun. The cheapo bargins are the best. A fleet of s**tters waiting to be abused
