What would you do if you owned my car

What would you do if you owned my Williams?

A. Treat it as an investment and keep it low miles, garaged, strored in winter and try to keep it value up?

B. Drive it as a second car so as not to devalue it too much and keep it spotless?

C. Drive it as your first car?

D. Tune it (i have 2 grand spare, was thinking of cams and head and brakes)

E. Not tune it?

F. Sell it?

G. Show it?

H. Any combination of the above?

Come on give me your opinion.

B, probably.

Cant stand people who buy a nice car and just stand and look at it for years. Whats the point of that?

As a second car you still get to enjoy it and you can be choosy of when to use it.

It would be a waste not to drive it. Its not really at the age where you could call it a classic car and wont be for a long time, if ever! It will probably end up like the R5 Raider. Good if you can get a clean example, but never going to be worth thousands like the Turbo 1 or 2.

Id use it as my first car and keep the cash spare as to when it breaks down or needs work - thats what Willys are all about.

I dont think theyll end up like Raiders though as that was just a colour really - The Willys have a racing link plus theyre more special edition are they not that the Raiders? (well the Willy 1s anyway).

Are the rarest standard Gt Turbos not the white K reg ones they did? Wasnt theyre only a very few amount of K regs built all being pearl white? (calling all blown renault fans, calling all.....)

Garage it, use it once a couple of times a month to keep it running smoothly, part ex your CRX for that high mileage Williams.

go all out on it but use bits that r easily removed, tune it (IK, chip, zorst), kit (bumpers and spoiler that uses origional holes), new wheels etc but keep all original parts 2 put back on come time 2 sell and sell the mods seperatly.

id drive it every now & then & use it as a show car (get a trailer) & also it can be used (like it already has) on TV (push it....let them know that you have the car...car magazines too.......make some money out of it (p.s i never managed to get back to that thread......what was the outcome ?? was there 2 williams 001s ?? 1 LHD & 1 RHD ??) id say the first 5 & last one (of each run) are the only ones worth good money

oh yeah....& buy a cheap williams to run around in for when you wanna have a play .....play with the motor as well ....i.e gas flowed head/cams etc etc !!

Tune it up, mod it.. and when that person with £10k looking 4 an immaculate low millage williams turns up - just send him my way, lol ;)

Enjoy it for what it is!

The second best Williams in the world!

Your mission should you choose to accept it on behalf of all clio fans is to: -

Keep your clio as Williams/Reno created it

Pamper it so in years to come future generations will have a willy 002 to look up to.

oh and get another "shagger" of a williams to drive day in day out

Rant over......its your destiny and all that crap

Id go with that too...

Its a shame not to use it, but on the other hand you dont wanna rack loads of miles up on it and/or f*ck about with it!

Leave it original

Leave it original and use as a 2nd car. The Williams WILL become a classic, and people will overlook even the 1,2 or 3 bit I think.

But since yours is the 1st RHD one of all the Williams, it could be worth something in future. It may be a while though. Mk1 Golfs are only just starting to be considered as classics, and prices for them havent yet risen. (although they are predicted to do so soon, along with the 205 GTI)

Id pamper it and use it purely as a recreational driving machine (rather than for commuting). That way, youll have all the fun and drive it as was intended, but still keep it in the condition it should be in. Thats what I do! Bike/train a few days a week, Volvo another few - and the Willy if I feel special or want a rag!

Keep him standard too - theres not mcuh difference until you spend lots (experience!).

BTW - prices for good MK1 GTis are pretty high (min. £5k for a serious one) and Willy prices go between static and overvalued. If a car has a cult following people will always pay a high price - lets not forget though that these are souped-up shopping hatches from volume manufacturers: not bespoke supercars! Theyll never fetch Facel Vega or Ferrari 250 GTB money!

SHUT UP ABOUT IT!!

u keep posting threads about your car, do what ever you want to do with it, its your car!

Dont use it for commuting - keep it purely for recreational use.

Personally, id stick with your plans of headwork etc (all the hidden stuff) - that way when mag/tv show uses it itll be even better than what people think it already is!

  williams and trophy

fukkit

reno built it to be used as a daily hack

reno built it to go fast

reno built it to go round corners fast

dont think they built it to put it in a garage n wrap it up in cotton wool

wtf??????????

drive the fukkin thing........jus cos its an early 1 doesnt make it worth any more than the other willy 1s, or any more special

id rather have the fastest willy 1 in the land than the 1 thats spent more time bein looked at than driven

I would keep it as a low use second car. Keep it standard and as mint as poss. If I could get insurance for about 500 quid a year on one I would do just that myself.

Oooosp. Soz my mistake, i thought this was a discussion forum where you can ask ppls opinions. I will eventually do WHAT I WANT to do. However, a wise man will ask what other people think before making up his mind. And whats wrong with talking about my car. Thats what most people do on here and its understandable. Thats why we come on here. Nothing wrong with being a Williams geek;). Just so few of us about.

King.Stromba,

Considering the fact that your car

a) Has low mileage.

b) Is no.2 or whatever.

Your going to loose money if you tune it, cause it will loose its value, generally speaking if a car has been tuned, its been thrashed.

Get another willy and tune that and either keep your williams stored, no point in driving to Williams, sell the CRX.

E.g. Look how how much you can pay for a low mileage R5T that hasnt been modified or very slightly if you look around.

drive it like its stolen

clean it like its solid gold

if you put it away youll regret it, its a toy to be used and abused but never neglected.

Id just drive it and tune it, at the end of the day its still just a car (ducks and covers his head) and youre not gonna be around forever so make the most of it and have some fun in it, we only live once...
