Whats my V6 work now?

  FOR SALE - Mk1 V6
Hi,
i bought my mk1 v6 from Renault only just over 6 month ago and i've just today started a new job where i get a company car.
would love to keep the V6 but cant keep the finance as i took out a seperate bank loan for it. (plus no driveway space with an extra car)
Back then i paid £12200. I know its dropped a bit but hopefully not much.

Its a Nov 2002 Car.
Number 500.
I'm the 3rd owner of the car.
Silver
39000 miles
Full Renault Service history.
Usual v6 bits.
Cambelt, pump and pullies all changed last September
6 new injectors 'new better style'
all 4 tyres are in good shape still.
next service, mot and tax is september.
it still has the remaining 5 and a bit months of warranty that i should be able to pass over (will check)
Mileage was all checked by renault.

The only minor problem that i think this car has are the wheels. not curbed but 'flaking', could do with a shotbast and re-spray.

Any idea how much i may get for this as it's going to be a private sale?

Thanks for the help

  Less
Should pull £11k - £12k all day long mate. Might be worthwhile spending the £200 or so it'd cost to get the wheels refurbed before hand?

The cam/aux/pulleys etc are a big plus! :)

im no expert but if its in good shape id say about a grand less than you paid in private sale if you want a quick sale

But i dont think you will get any high valuations on here as everybody has a mate who will have just paid 10 pence for one.

If you get the wheels done and the car is a minter, you will get £11,500 for that car. Piece of piss.

If it were me, i'd get the car to 'minty mint' standard and put it up for £12,750.

Depends how quick you want the sale to be thoughh.

wasnt expect the keys to a company car on my first day so dont mind it not being a super quick sale.

Will check around for place who could do the wheels.

would be happy with losing £1000 for the past 6 months of powerful joy :)

Thanks guys

Company car seems to be the excuse for people selling cars even more so than "so then she tells me she never took the pill...."

Anyway alot of companies (well in scotland anyway) if you ask they may subsidise the cost of your own car,ive heard of people doing this but they werent 3.0 V6 Clios, more to the tune of 320i diesel Bee-em-dubs and mercs, still tho you could ask lol

pmsl, yep.

I say around about what you paid for it tbh. You do get some for less, but they are cheap for a reason.

Depending on the 'actual' condition of the rest of the car (not just the wheels), I'd say anywhere between 9k - 11.5k , but others have already suggested, get the wheels done before you try and sell private.

You could also try selling on here:

Regards,

Enthusiasts car -needs to be in top condition, Daniel speaks alot of sense as usual.

With regard to company cars I believe the government give you some money (pence per mile) if you opt out and run your own car. My old mans always had company cars but it actually works out cheaper for him now to run around in his own TT 225 than his old A6 TDI company car.

  Mint 1*2's for sale-
8.5k you're having a laugh. Another top Cliosport valuation.

in the current economic climate...people will not spend over £8K on a 3rd hand french car...they would opt for something german...

So there isnt a problem with the Economic climate if theres a German Car available-
Common Sense FTL-

Cars like this are a NICHE Market irrespective of the Economy-
With A refurb on the Alloys & a small bit of money invested in the paintwork & a good PC the car will fetch close to what the original purchase price was- OR as mentioned if a quick sale is required then sure slice a grand off to capture a 50/50 customer-

Good luck with the sale-

Well, I was looking at them for a while (when I thought I could get one with a cambelt done for £8k which is all I can afford) most of the decent ones which were hpi clear seemed to be around £9-12k with similar or higher miles, however you've had the cambelt, pump and pullies done, (I'm sure you weren't left with much change out of a grand) and many of the ones I saw advertised didn't.

Just recently 001 sold and that fetched a healthy price.

I'd say if you've got all the paperwork then you'd be looking at £11-12k at least, once the wheels are sorted, or perhaps take less if you want to shift it quick and not bother with the wheel refurb.
If I had the cash with the frsh it'd be one to look at for sure.

Good luck with the sale.

You sir have been smoking crack...........

Mr buyer is after a new car, he buys a 51 plate M3 for 12K, at the same time he could have bought a 52 plate V6 230.

3 Years down the line Mr buyers M3 is 2aPenny and worth 7K with 100K+ miles, the V6 230 3rd hand french car is rarer than rocking horse s**t and probably becoming a collectors item, but don't worry because Mr Buyer was looking to buy a used car in the 2008 'economic climate' so he is a clever man for buying German.

yeah the company will but whats the point in me putting 40,000 motorway miles on such a specialist car.
plus it wont like going to new build sites on a daily basis...

thought this thread would be interesting. i'll keep it locked up if its only worth 8.5k now :)
