you can go to et38.5 (172cup) to improve handing, but it is about 48 for standard

Someone else in another thread said he fitted 10 mm spacers - which would have the same effect as changing from a 48.5 mm to a 38.5 mm offset wheel - and it wrecked the handling. But the cup has 38.5 mm offset wheels, and presumably better handling. I understand (correct me if I'm wrong) that for the 182 there's only 5 mm difference between the ordinary and Cup wheels. Is that for handling reasons, or because the 205 tyre runs out of clearance between it and the guard at the rear?
