Volvo 440/460/480 Engine - B18FT into Clio MK2

Car  Clio S Volvo 480T
Hi everyone, I recently bought a blown engine Clio 1.2 16v from 2004 and wanted to fit a B18FT into it, but now can’t find any info on a F Series 8v and box in a MK2.
The thing is, I can find and buy a volvo engine really cheap and have a F3R with box somewhat cheap ready to buy too. Wiring loom and ECU its not a problem, it will have standalone with custom loom and the car doesn’t have ABS.
The problem is the engine and box mounts, can anyone tell me if the F3R and F3P mounts will work on the MK2 and if a JB3 is a straight fit on the car too. If so, it would be really easy.

I suspect it will but obviously cant guaranteed anything. I would have a good look through pictures. People fit f4r engines to Renault 5's which are the same era as the B18. 🤷

It would be such an obscure conversion I think you just have to bite the bullet and buy the engine to see.

Massive Flickr album of a B18 in an R5. From a quick observation the engine mounts are on the bottom as the engine/gearbox is attached to the sub frame.

Is it possible: probably

Can you use the original engine mounts: It really doesn't look like it

Every Clio MK2 has a top engine mount which the B18 doesn't have for starters

Should go in as similar to old1.9na diesel than ph1 had.

Top mount it using a clio rsi engine mount or an old n/a diesel f8q mount if either will fit, all similar design iirc. Even k9k mount might go with mods

Gearbox mount oem clio, dogbone from something will fit.

Personally, would use a better engine if swapping/using standalone.

Before anything, thanks everyone for the quick response.
The thing is, for me this is the best turbo "renault" engine, I had a MK1 which I fitted one and only with the stock turbo making 0.9 bar was amazing, and this time I want to use a T25 turbo with something like 1.2 bar, with probably water to air intercooling, N/A CAM and F3R inlet.
The diesel(F8Q and F9Q) mounts doesn't bolt to the petrol heads, the B18FT has the threads to fit F3P, N and R mounts, my main thing is just the connection from mount that stays in the chassis and the hole in the F3R laguna mount will make a good fit or the engine will be angled in the bay.

Yes, I have a shop here in Portugal where I make Speeduinos, Custom Wiring Looms and sometimes swaps but mainly Opel, in Renaults I have fitted a K4M in a MK1 and that B18FT in that MK1. I have also a Nardo Corsa B 1.8 16V swapped with Big cams, so anything N/A i don't have much interest

I wouldnt say b18 is the best turbo engine, Megane f4rt is miles better engine imo. You will need to spend a fair bit of money on b18ft to get over stock megane rs power, i know lots of people who have tuned the volvo lump.

Fabricate a lower engine mount and subframe mount the engine instead of the top suspended engine mount. Same as mk1 clio / r5gtt, the clio2 subframe is similar to mk1/super5

I know the gains of the B18FT will not easily surpass the power of F4RT stock, even but just the price of a lump from a laguna or espace is almost the triple of the B18FT, i can get a B18FT for 250€, to fit the F4RT on the clio because of the gearbox, it needs a lot of work (mounts, shafts, gear linkage, hydraulic clutch) and I don't feel that is more reliable, If I get 220hp from the B18FT I will be happy.
Will investigate the subframe of the 1.2 16v, I know that the 172 and 182 subs are different.
