has it two buttons on it?? if so looks like a clifford blackjack module. search on google, excellent security - basically turns car off and locks thief inside it if its turned on and code aint entered within 10 seconds!

Why would I have one fitted then? The Renault garage I bought it from said they originally supplied the car so it won't be an import. Previous owner must have installed one I guess!

Yep, you are quite correct it could be,

It might also be Autowatch, Serpistar, Waso, Autolock and a few others.

They have all used that type of device, its a commercially available part used in domestic as well as auto security systems.

imports dont have them,mine was from holland but had nothing like that
