looking at pictures of all 172s and most dynamiques i notice they have an extra switch beside the headlight level switch was just wondering what it does? ive pointed it out in the pic

ohh a dash dimmer, COOL! lol if i was to get that black pannel with both dials/switches on it, could i just plug it into mine and it would dim the dials, even although mine isnt a dynamique and doesnt have that feature as standard? as ive noticed ive got an extra connector behind that pannel so it seems the wiring is there?

cheers

my dynamique doesn't seem to have one?
It was probably stolen when your car was broken into and sold on the black market for mega dosh. They're that good.

My Mk1 has it.... if you've had a few too many at the pub... it stops 100 looking like 1000, etc ;)

its for raising/lowering the headlights, the one to the left of it is for dimming the dash lights. The 172s/182s don't have it as its done automatically by the car.

the dimmer is possible the only thing I have yet to touch on my mk2 lol. does it work? I havent a clue

Haven't got that one in mine i've only got the one that highers and lowers the headlight beam.

i think its only the older dynamiques that have the dash light dimmer, mine hasnt got it and i know has's has cos he was boasting bout it ;)

My curent dynamique doesn't have it but my old 1.2 dynamique+ did, was useless anyway as far as i'm concerned.

ive got one :approve: the one on the left is raising and lowering headlights.. and the one on the right dims the dash n stuff.. its easy on the eyes at night when its dim

If anyone wants to retrofit it then the wiring it already there, as far as I can see the dial is just a variable resistor and there is a link behind there if you haven't got it.

Taking a guess (a well educated one) with a part no I think its 82 00 069 069, i've ordered one from renault anyway cost me £5.29 will report back when I get it on friday.
Its pretty much useless but snob factor and it being cool(ish) was worth a fiver.
